Not just preaching about enduring through adversity but living it, Be Fair is a punk band from Sheffield UK.

Formed in 2019 by friends Carl Elliot (bass), Dickie Allen (guitars and vox), Dave Pearson (drums) and Phil Stevenson (guitars and vox), Be Fair use the platform made possible by their energetic hook-filled punk sound to spread darkly inspiring tales. Their grit and optimism is made evident in the energy of their songs and the trials they endured to create them.

Written About A Confrontation With Mortality, “Hadfield 5” By Be Fair Is Named After A British Hospital Ward

Their new single “Hadfield 5,” named after the hospital ward where guitarist and secondary vocalist Dickie Allen was treated and recovered from life threatening blood clots on his lungs, is so infectious that I suspect that even those turned off by extreme distortion might enjoy the melodies Allen’s fiery vocals.

From their debut single “Veins and Capillaries” to 2023’s “Montreal Screwup,” Be Fair have grown incredibly in performance and production. “Hadfield 5” continues that trend, offering something unique in its powerful yet restrained lightning in a bottle nature, distilling the power of post grunge into something more valuable than its destructive predecessors. Both “Montreal Screwup” and “Hadfield 5” were masterfully recorded at Nave Studio in Leeds, and there’s a third single on its way from that set.
